Car: VTV inspection & driving licence

VTV inspection is mandatory for cars and motorbikes registered in CABA: first at year 4 or 64,000 km, then every 2 years, and yearly after 7 years or 84,000 km.
Book only at the official site suvtv.com.ar/turnos — the City warns about fake booking sites.
VTV fee (Aug 2026): car ARS 96,968, motorbike ARS 36,459. A VTV reform was approved in 2026 — rules and prices may change.
A CABA licence requires a DNI with a City address; foreigners without DNI need a residency document with a CABA address (licence valid until the residency ends).
Foreign licences can be exchanged (canje) only for Spain, Italy, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia and Chile.
